The Lauren Poncho is super simple and scrumptious! The Vel-Luxe yarn from Lion Brand really puts this piece over the top! It’s the perfect weight to throw on over a blouse or sweater, and the length is just right to keep your hands free. I love really long sweaters, ponchos… well, everything. But sometimes it just makes more sense to have something a little shorter, and that’s where this poncho comes in. It would be great for the office because your hands aren’t encumbered by any extra fabric. On top of that, it’s easy and relaxing to crochet so you can’t lose with this one. 🙂

Notes:
- Beginning chains don’t count as stitches. Do build-up chains loosely to make it easier to get your hook through for the slip stitch at the end of each round.
- I recommend using stitch markers in the first stitch of each row so you know where to place your last stitch.
- Note that you start out with dc, switch to hdc from rows 44 – 59, and then go back to dc for the remainder of the poncho.

Construction:
Lay panels out flat with wrong sides together on top of each other. Depending on how tightly you crocheted, your center may be different than mine. To find your center, measure the panels from end to end, and then divide that number in half. Mark your center with a stitch marker, and then measure approximately 5 1/2” on each side of the center for your neck opening. You want to leave approximately 11” total for the neck opening.
Sew along the top seam on both sides from the outer edge to where you marked your neck opening.
