This simple brightly-colored afghan is done in the perfect colors to add a mystical touch to your Halloween decor!
I wanted something quick and easy but also “Halloweenish”. So of course I went for a granny square, but I decided to do a circle in a square to make it look a little like a spider web.
The Color Made Easy yarn from Lion Brand has amazing color and is really thick so it works up very quickly.
You can definitely have this one done in time for the holiday! Happy crocheting, my friends!!

Sp – space
St, sts – stitch, stitches
Notes:
- Beginning chains count as stitches.
- You will be making 8 granny squares in each color and joining them together. I joined them with a single crochet stitch, but feel free to use any method you like.
- The granny squares start as a circle and end as a square. You will crochet a border around each in Caviar before joining them together. For the border, I crochet into the chain stitch, not under it.
- I start with a magic ring so there’s no hole in the middle. If you prefer, you can ch 4, ss into the beginning chain to form a ring, then make the beginning stitches from Round 1 into the ring.
- There are different ways of adding rounds to granny squares when you’re using the same color. You can cut the yarn and fasten off after each round or do a build-up chain right where you stopped. I chose to slip stitch a few stitches over and then do my build-up chain so that they weren’t all lined up and therefore were less noticeable. This does add a little bulk to those few stitches, but I was fine with that. Whichever way you choose to start your rounds, just follow the instructions and it will work out fine.
Instructions:
Make 8 with Turmeric and 8 with Ultraviolet

Fasten off and cut yarn.
Round 7: For the border, attach Caviar into any stitch along one of the sides, ch 1 (counts as sc), sc into each st to the next corner, 2 sc in each corner st, repeat around, doing 1 sc in each st along the sides and 2 sc in every corner st, join at top of starting ch with ss. Fasten off and weave in ends.
With Caviar, sew your squares together following the pattern in the photo using any method you like. I used a single crochet to join my squares.
