Caramel Latte Infinity Scarf

This Caramel Latte Infinity Scarf is super easy, super warm, and super versatile.  What more could you ask for in a beautiful piece of crochet work? I love it as a scarf, but with a single twist over your head you have a gorgeous bulky cowl! Two great looks in one awesomely warm scarf.

Abbreviations:

Ch – chain

Sc – single crochet

Dc – double crochet

St, sts – stitch, stitches

Notes:

  1. Beginning chains count as stitches.
  2. You’re making a long rectangle that you will fold in half to create the scarf.
  3. I recommend using stitch markers to easily keep your rows even.  Place a stitch marker in the the first stitch of a row, and you will know where to crochet your last stitch when you get back to that end.  It’s especially helpful to put a stitch marker in the top of the chain 3 at the beginning of that row (see Row 3 below) as it can be confusing where to do your last stitch in the following row.

Instructions:

Chain 152

Row 1:  Sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across. 151 sts.

Row 2:  Turn, ch 1, sc in first st, sk 2, *5 dc in next st, sk 2, sc in next st, sk 2*.  Repeat from * to *  across row.  Sc in last st.

Row 3:  Turn, ch 3, 2 dc in first st (the ch 3 and 2 dc form a half shell), sk 2, sc in next st (this will be the center of the shell from the previous row), sk 2, *5 dc in next st (this is the sc from the previous row), sk 2, sc in next st, sk 2*.  Repeat from * to * across row. 3 dc in last st.

Row 4:  Turn, ch 1, sc in first st, sk 2, *5 dc in next st, sk 2, sc in next st, sk 2*.  Repeat from * to *  across row.  Sc in last st.

Row 5:  Turn, ch 3, 2 dc in first st, sk 2, sc in next st, sk 2, *5 dc in next st, sk 2, sc in next st, sk 2*.  Repeat from * to * across row. 3 dc in last st.

Rows 6 – 29: Continue alternating the pattern from rows 4 and 5. After last row, bind off and weave in ends.

Construction:

Lay rectangle out flat with right side up.

Fold in half, lining up edges.  Sew short sides together to create the scarf.
