This top is so easy to make and so comfortable to wear. It covers everything you want covered and looks good doing it!
As long as you use stitch markers, this is a great pattern to relax with. The flounce is easily made by just making a taller stitch partway through the row so no fancy stitching or sewing going on!
I used Lion Brand Color Made Easy yarn, but I like this pattern so much, I’m thinking of making it in some lighter weight yarns for summer. If you try it, let me know. Happy crocheting, my friends!

Materials:
Lion Brand Color Made Easy in Caviar – 4 skeins
Lion Brand Color Made Easy in Ultraviolet – 1 skein
Hook size L/11 – 8.00 mm
Stitch markers
Gauge:
9 dc and 6 rows = 4”
Dimensions:
19 1/2” wide (at waist) by 28 1/2” long
Abbreviations:
Ch – chain
Sc – single crochet
Dc – double crochet
Tc – treble crochet
St, sts – stitch, stitches
Notes:
- Beginning chains don’t count as stitches.
- The flounce is created by starting a row with a shorter stitch and then switching to a taller stitch partway through. Be sure to place a stitch marker where the stitches change and it will be easy to crochet without counting.
- Starting chain relaxed is approximately 22 1/2”. I think this measurement is an easy way to get your gauge on the right track.
Instructions:
Front panels – make two
Chain 62 with Caviar, be sure to place a stitch marker in the 20th stitch.
Row 1: Dc in third ch from hook and in next 39 sts, in ch 41 do a tc and continue with tc across chain. 60 sts.
Row 2: Turn, ch 3, tc in first st and in next 19 sts (20 total tc stitches), move stitch marker up on the 20th stitch. Dc in next 40 sts. 60 sts.
Row 3: Turn, ch 2, dc in 1st st and next 39 sts (40 total dc stitches), tc in next 20 sts. (Be sure to move stitch marker up on your first tc stitch which will be stitch 41). 60 sts.
Rows 4 – 12: Repeat rows 2 and 3. (Row 12 will be the pattern in Row 2.)
Row 13: With Ultraviolet, turn, ch 1, sc in first st and across row. Tie off and weave in ends.
Back Panel

Construction:
Lay back panel out flat with right side up. Line up front panels (wrong sides up) so the sides line up. You want the right sides together.
Sew the shoulder seams together at the top – you should have a gap of approximately 3” – 4” between the panels in the center.
Sew the sides seams up the sides approximately 18” – 20”. You need to leave 8 1/2” – 9” for the armholes.
Sew up the center seam 18”. Turn right side out.
